No, I haven’t forgotten this site. I’ve just had to deal with a dead computer and then a busy school semester.

Anyway, in an effort to come back to this, I’ve decided to finally move it off the subdomain. Meaning, rather than being at je.kimi-no-koe.net, it is not at my main page, http://kimi-no-koe.net. Please update your links/bookmarks/etc. Once I get everything working, I will start updating again and eventually delete the old page.

Sorry for the delay.

Nakamaru to star in drama special!

June 24, 2009 By: Kimi Category: Nakamaru Yuichi, TV Drama

From Tokyograph:

“Haha no Okurimono,” a work by the late screenwriter Kuniko Mukoda, is being adapted to both the small screen and the stage. The two versions will be completed later this year, in honor of the 80th anniversary of Mukoda’s birth.

The story focuses on the two mothers of a couple that is about to get married. In the drama version, which will air as a single episode on TBS this fall, Keiko Takeshita and Hisako Manda play the mothers, while Yuki Shimizu and KAT-TUN’s Yuichi Nakamaru play the couple. Other cast members include B-Saku Sato and Koji Ishizaka.

The stage version will be performed in October at Tokyo’s Mitsukoshi Theater. Shimizu will still play the bride, but the groom will by played by fellow Johnny’s member Mizuki Sano.

More “Gokusen” movie cast members announced.

May 27, 2009 By: Kimi Category: Kamenashi Kazuya, Movie

From Tokyograph:

With “Gokusen: The Movie” less than a couple months away, a new announcement has revealed that six more actors from the drama’s earlier seasons will be returning, including Shun Oguri and Mocomichi Hayami.

The movie is already known to focus on the cast of the show’s third season, which aired in 2008. It was previously announced that Yuya Takaki, Haruma Miura, and Yuta Tamamori are part of the main cast. At the end of last month, it was also revealed that the second season’s Kazuya Kamenashi was added to the cast.

Now, the number of returning alumni has again increased, adding three students each from the drama’s first two seasons. Oguri will represent the first season, along with Yuma Ishigaki and Hiroki Narimiya. From the second season, Hayami will be joined by Teppei Koike and Keisuke Koide.

Although all six played delinquent students in their respective seasons, they have grown up to become respectable members of society. Together with Kamenashi’s character, who has become a teacher in training, these graduates will lend their support to the beloved teacher “Yankumi,” played by starring actress Yukie Nakama. This movie is said to be Nakama’s last time to take on this role.

Filming for the movie finished on May 13. The picture opens in theaters on July 11.

KAT-TUN concerts may qualify for Guinness

May 24, 2009 By: Kimi Category: Concert

From Tokyograph:

On Friday, popular boy band KAT-TUN completed their record-setting run of eight consecutive days of concerts at the Tokyo Dome. With a full house of about 55,000 fans at each show, a total of roughly 440,000 people attended the concerts.

Last year, KAT-TUN performed four consecutive days at the Dome. At the time, it tied for the record with British rocker Sting, who also did a four-day stretch there in 1988. However, KAT-TUN’s recent concerts have now doubled that record.

Their management agency, Johnny’s Jimusho, is hoping to have this achievement officially recognized as a Guinness World Record under “most consecutive concerts at a venue with a capacity of 50,000.” It appears that someone affiliated with Guinness happened to be at the Tokyo Dome, so the agency has requested verification of the record.

With the success of these concerts, KAT-TUN has scheduled many more to extend their tour. They had originally planned for these 8 shows to be followed by 3 at Osaka Dome on May 29-31 and 2 more at Tokyo Dome on June 14-15. They have now added 17 more shows in 6 other cities, starting in July.

KAT-TUN will be having a nationwide tour this summer!

May 22, 2009 By: Kimi Category: Concert

On May 22nd, popular six man group, KAT-TUN has completed a historical 8 consecutive days of performances at Tokyo Dome. KAT-TUN’s energy doesn’t stop. It has been announced that they will be on stage again from July 22nd to August 23rd in 6 cities for 17 performances in a nationwide tour. This month, from the 29th, there will be three days of performances in Osaka’s Kyocera Dome and on June 14th and 15th, they return to Tokyo Dome. About this, Taguchi Junnosuke (23) said with high spirits, “Still, I think we can continue. Even doing it for one year, we’d be ok!” Again, KAT-TUN’s juniors from Johnny & Associates, Hey! Say! JUMP, who are holding their own nationwide tour from July 25th to August 27th with 12 performances in 4 cities, will be joining KAT-TUN.

Don’t quote me on the line about H!S!J. I don’t pay attention to that group at all.

Help make this site more totally awesome!

May 15, 2009 By: Kimi Category: Site shenanegans

Life has been extremely taxing these past few months, which is why, if you follow this site or Yorokobi no Uta, you’ve noticed that I’ve been kinda absent compared to last year.

Well, I just finished my final exams yesterday and will finally have the time to breathe and play around with this site again! With that in mind, I would like some feedback! Leave me a comment on this post or email me (contact info here or PM me on LJ (LJ’s PM system hates me, so I’d suggest email or commenting.)) and let me know what you think.

What would you like to see on this site? What should I focus on first? Lyric translations? Magazine translations? Basic info on releases? Drama/TV show synopses?

I’m thinking of either a forum or a chat room. Or both. Which are you more likely to use?

Does the layout work for you? (If not, what browser are you using and what’s wrong with the layout?)

Do you have any suggestions for a new domain name?

Despite what it currently says in the “About” section, this site will only focus on KAT-TUN. I don’t have the time or, frankly, the interest to do all the You & J groups. (If you do, I am willing to lend you the webspace and help you with setting it up. Just let me know.)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give. :D

Kamenashi given guest role on “Mr. Brain”

May 15, 2009 By: Kimi Category: Kamenashi Kazuya, TV Drama

From Tokyograph:

It was made known on Tuesday that Kazuya Kamenashi (23) will appear in a guest role in the new TBS drama series “MR.BRAIN” that stars SMAP’s Takuya Kimura (36). It will be the first time the two act together in a project.

Kamenashi expressed his happiness about the opportunity. “I’m really happy to be called upon for my senpai’s drama. On the set, I’m quite nervous but having fun. I’m grateful towards Kimura-kun.” He also explained, “I couldn’t have imagined acting together with Kimura-kun. I have to work hard and do my best.”

Kimura was also positive. “I was really happy to hear that Kamenashi was coming in. I hope that he enjoys this view of the world.” He then added in a compliment, “And above all, Kamenashi looks good in whatever he wears.”

The series, which premieres on May 23, features Kimura as a neuroscientist who helps solve cases for the National Police Agency. Kamenashi will appear in the third episode (June 6), playing the role of a young elite doctor of a university hospital where a murder takes place.

More info is here at Yorokobi no Uta.
